As promised in my last post, today I’m going to signpost you to a whole host of resources for the Adoption Support Fund.
This should give you a good feel for what the ASF is all about and how you can access it. This is assuming that you don’t have a social worker or haven’t reached out to your Local Authority’s Post Adoption Support Team. We’d highly recommend that you do that too!
All Party Parliamentary Group on Adoption and Permanence
Whilst not strictly relevant for applications for the Adoption Support Fund, these are the guys who are lobbying hard for the fund. They have recently concluded an inquiry into the fund and you can read their findings here.
I do hope the government pays heed to their report. It is clear and succinct and makes a strong argument for continuation of the fund past next year. And for higher levels of funding.
They have a full page of resources which really is the most comprehensive we have found.
One Adoption has a great flowchart showing the how the application process for ASF works. You can find it here.
The Governments own portal gives a very succinct overview of the ASF.
To access the Adoption Support Fund you’ll need to apply to your Local Authority. You’ll find a full list of them here.
If you can’t find what you need above, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to help.
